Californians now have until July 15 to file their 2019 taxes. Both federal and state deadlines have been pushed back from the usual April date due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to 2019 taxes, first quarter estimate payments for 2020 have been extended to July 15 as well. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the State of California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) will continue processing tax returns during that time, so taxpayers can still file early to receive refunds sooner.
