Earl is pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. He’s a 2-year-old, 36-pound male Labrador Retriever/Whippet mix.

Earl was a stray before he was rescued and taken to an animal shelter in the Imperial Valley. He was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) program. He’s very jumpy and excited when he’s in his kennel. He knows that everyone who walks past could be his next owner. For the people who take the time to meet him, Earl is very affectionate. He’s a social dog who needs an active home and family. He loves playing fetch and he would be happy to learn more if there are treats involved. Earl might like to have some kids to play with, but they should be a little older because of his energy level.

The $145 adoption fee for Earl includes medical exams, vaccinations, neuter, and registered microchip. For more information call 760-753-6413, visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas, or log onto SDPets.org. Kennels and Cattery are open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day but Tuesday.
