The world’s biggest women’s skateboarding event, called Exposure: A Women’s Benefit Event, returned to Encinitas in early November, bringing 154 women and girls from 15 countries together to compete in professional and amateur events in vert bowl and street disciplines. Attendees participated in skate and yoga clinics, community service projects, Skate Rising Service and empowerment workshops, a vendor village, and free entry into a drawing of 100 skateboards. Proceeds from the event were donated to Community Resource Center’s domestic violence program.

Exposure Skate is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women through skateboarding by organizing events that provide all-female skateboarding competitions, learn-to-skate clinics, and wellness education. Each year, the organization presents Exposure: A Women’s Benefit Event to bring opportunity and visibility to women who embody courage and strength. Learn more at
