The Encinitas community once again participated in National Night Out in August. North Coastal Sheriff’s Deputies and staff gathered in the Target Encinitas parking lot to interact directly with community members. The event included free food and drinks, patrol vehicles and motorcycles, bomb robots, kids activities, crime prevention information, and other resources.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make communities safer, more caring places to live. Millions of neighborhoods take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, and military bases worldwide each year. Local neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts, and other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits, and more.
