Encinitas City Manager Karen Brust was recently recognized and honored by the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) at its 103rd Annual Conference for her 30 years of service. Karen’s recent efforts at City Hall include reorganizing and establishing the Development Services Department, opening the Parks & Recreation Customer Service Counter, adding service tools such as SeeClickFix, and implementing mobility projects, to name a few. Councilmember Tony Kranz said, “I appreciate all the work that Karen has done for the city and look forward to her continuing to focus on the things that make life better for our residents.” Karen has been in her current role since 2015, and previously served as City Manager for the cities of San Juan Capistrano and Del Mar. She has been a Cardiff and Olivenhain resident for the last 17 years.
