Young girls, professional skateboarders, local businesses, and other community members came together through Skate Rising to support 10-year-old Vivian Gomez, who is battling a rare form of brain cancer. Attendees built activity kits for children going through radiation treatment, tied knots in a knotted blanket for Vivian, donated hair to Locks of Love, participated in a skateboarding clinic, and got in on a skate chain around the Encinitas Community Park. “It is an honor to watch the Skate Rising participants grow and learn what it means to serve those around you,” said Skate Rising Creator and Director Calli Kelsay, “all while gaining confidence through skateboarding to stand up and be the change.” Discover more at www.exposureskate.org/skaterising.
