Busy is the pet of the week at the Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS). She’s a 2-month-old, 2- pound, Domestic Shorthaired Tabby Kitten.

Before arriving at RCHS when she was only 4-week- old, “Busy” was at a local veterinary office. She was transferred to the shelter through the FOCAS program, and then went into the home of a foster care volunteer. Now she’s old enough to be adopted.

According to RCHS, It’s usually hard to find a kitten available for adoption at this time of year. But “kitten season” lasted longer than usual this year and now little “Busy” is ready to go to her forever home. Remember that a kitten (or any pet) is a lifetime commitment. Cats can live 15 to 20 years. Keep that in mind if you decide to get busy with “Busy.”

The $125 adoption fee for Busy includes medical exam, vaccinations, spay, and microchip. Find your best friend at RCHS at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas or log on to www.sdpets.org. Call 760-753-6413 for more information. Kennels and Cattery are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Monday.
