Rascal is the pet of the week at the Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS). He’s a 2-year-old, 13-pound, Domestic Short Hair cat.

According to RCHS Public Relations Director John Van Zante, “The name Rascal might be a bit misleading. He’s really very easy going and even tempered.” He continued, “The care providers in the Cattery say that Rascal would be a California surfer dude if he was a human. He would want his owners to mellow out and relax. If you already have cats, that’s totally cool with Rascal. He’s happy to greet people, but then he’s ready to go find something else to do or just chill out.”

Rascal was transferred to RCHS through the Friends of County Animal Shelters program.

The $100 adoption fee for Rascal includes a medical exam, vaccinations, neuter, and microchip. Find your best friend at RCHS or log on to www.sdpets.org. Call 760-753-6413 for more information or to sponsor a pet until it’s adopted. Kennels and Cattery are open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.Wednesday through Monday.
