GoPro videos are all the rage nowadays, especially on YouTube, with a video “uploaded every two minutes” on the site. As one of the fastest growing camera companies, Nick Woodman, Founder of GoPRo and a UC San Diego alumni, will share his story of how he spent two years in his dad’s garage perfecting the first “innovative wearable camera.” “Now ubiquitous on Hollywood film sets, reality TV shows and news broadcasts, the miniature cameras have inspired sports enthusiasts to capture extreme thrills — including the recent twenty-four-mile sky dive by Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner,” said Erika Johnson, Marketing and Communications Coordinator at UC San Diego.

On June 6, Nick Woodman will return to UC San Diego to share his experiences as a student and a surfer that helped shape and inspire his GoPro dream. This event is free and open to the public, titled “A Conversation with Nick Woodman”. It will take place at 2 p.m. in the Price Center West Ballroom on the UC San Diego campus. Seating is limited and advance registration is required. To register, head to To learn a little more about Nick Woodman and his history, follow this link: Nick Woodman
