Local 92024 resident and artist Jennifer Richards will exhibit her oil paintings inspired by the beautiful landscape and peaceful lifestyle of Southern California February 15 – March 30, at the Encinitas 101 Mainstreet Association, 818 S. Coast Highway 101, Encinitas, California. The exhibit is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. – p.m. A reception with the artist will be held Saturday, February 22, 5 – 8 p.m.
A native of the mid-Atlantic region, Richards took a detour to Fairbanks, Alaska before settling in Southern California in 1997. Inspired by the surf culture, beautiful vegetation, and relaxed spirit of the locals, Jennifer embarked on a mission to fill the walls of her new home with paintings of uniquely-local subjects. “I love to paint the peaceful, unique and interesting subjects that draw so many of us to Southern California. This region is my muse.“ Richards’ paintings were recently included in the exhibit of Outstanding Visual Artists of the Region at the Museum of the Living Artist in Balboa Park and the San Diego Fine Art Exhibit at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Racetrack. Jennifer Richards lives and works in Encinitas.
