The Encinitas Library is looking for local filmmakers to submit short films to be screened at this year’s Book Festival and Celebration of the Arts, taking place Oct. 19. The library will be screening films from artists grades 7 through 12 as part of an all-day program in the library’s teen room. Submissions will be judged by festival volunteers, and the top 10 selections will be included. The only guidelines are that the film may not exceed 10 minutes in length, and must be appropriate for all audiences. Although the films will be shown in the teen area, everyone is welcome to enjoy them.

Anyone interested in participating in this program should contact Yoshi LeaVesseur at filmfestvids2013@gmail.com.

The Encinitas Library’s Book Festival is in its fifth year, and this year will feature the theme “Celebration of the Arts”. The festival will include a number of local authors, artists, workshops, presentations, and vendors, with activities for all ages, and is free and open to the public. It will take place on Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 540 Cornish Dr., Encinitas, CA 92024.
